Sicky, sick

We have been so incredibly blessed with such a healthy kid. She has never been sick, not even a cold since the day she was born. That has now changed... Last week, Addie had a nasty cold - smoker's cough included. Just when we thought she was over it, she got some sort of nasty virus that has had her throwing up - and other things - since Sunday. She was better Monday, and than was sick all day again yesterday. Luckily, this yuck doesn't have a fever and she is eating. The hard part is keeping her hydrated because she won't drink anything but milk and sometimes water. She is in much better shape today.

Being that she had never had any sort of sickness since she came home from the hospital, we have been a little on edge around here. Neither one of us have been exactly sure what to do - and both feel a little helpless. In fact, last night I just wanted to cry for her. I am told this comes with the territory - that most parents feel this way when their kids are sick. But my poor boo! I felt so bad for her, I kicked her dad out of the bed last night and let her sleep in our bed with me. Sorry, Chuck Schuck, our baby needed her mama!

Just an update on this. We ended up at one point taking her to the ER because her hands and lips were turning a blue-ish/purple color and she was very lathargic. We were very scared. The doctors at the er tested her hydration level and determined she was ok. They encouraged us to continue what we were doing and let the bug take it's course. Which thankfully it has. She is healthy and happy again...
