Half Marathon

I am looking for a half marathon to run in, or close to, Panama City. Ideally, I would like to run it once it cools off so sometime during November or December. If anyone has any suggestions, please shoot me an email. I feel like my running is more consistant when I have a goal - like a half-marathon - to work towards.

Rainy Sunday

Here it is! Raining again. I think it has rained more in one month this May that it has ever rained the whole time we have been here. It is raining again, which is fine, but we had plans to take Addie to the park. Oh well, maybe it will clear up this afternoon.

I would love to say that we are getting a lot of stuff done on the inside of the house, but I would be lying. We have been doing very little, which has been really nice. This is the only weekend that we have had and that we will have for several weeks that we have nothing going on. It has been nice hanging out - watching NCIS and House, playing with Addison. However, at some point today, I think we should note be so lazy and should maybe spend some time cleaning and packing the house. Than again, maybe not.

Our move is really becoming real now. Not only are there boxes stacked everywhere, but we made hotel reservations for the trip down there yesterday. The Air Force gives us three days to get down there, and even though it really only takes two to get down there, we have decided with Addie and the dogs, we will be taking all three days to get there. Addison isn't a huge fan of the car so we thought we would drive about five hours a day with the hopes that it won't be too bad. We will drive early in the day and stop early in the day so she has the chance to play, go to the pool, etc. Keep your fingers crosssed that our plan works and we don't go crazy on the way there!

27th FS Farewell

We have officially been farewelled from the 27th fighter squadron. The party was held in the bar last night and it was a great night. I got a little more emotional than I thought I would when I was speaking to the group- I think I may miss VA more than I thought I would. We have, afterall, made some great memories here as well as friends. On the bright side, the F-22 community is so small that many of the people we have become connected to we will come in contact with again someday. So it isn't goodbye, just a "see you later!" Anyway, it was a nice evening catered by Salsa's - a fabulous Mexican restaraunt - and there was a great crowd. Col. Pilch - aka "Shudda" - said some really great things about Charlie - which was very nice to hear. We are so thankful to everyone who was able to come out. It really made the night that much better, so thank you all so much!

Cell Phone

My little bugger is pretty stinking smart. Today she picked up my cell phone - again - and was carrying it around while I was getting ready to go out for our walk. When it was time to load her up, I noticed that the cell phone was no longer in her hand. I couldn't find it anywhere so I put her down and asked her where it was and to show it to me. She walked over to one of the open boxes in the family room and pointed. Sure enough - there was my cell phone. She has never done that before and it was sooooo cool.

RSVP

Please let us know if you will be able to attend Addie's bday party... Thanks!

Climbber!

So yesterday, I was in the kitchen doing the dishes and I happened to catch movement out of the corner of my eye. I look over and I see most of Addison's body above the arm of the couch. Needless to say, she is NOT that tall. I walked over to her and she had climbed herself up on the rocking chair! Great! We have a climbber! Just like her daddy was.

Addison's Birthday Party

For our friends and family who will be in the area because of Valerie's wedding, we are going to be having Addison's first birthday on Monday, May 25th. That is the Monday after Val's wedding - Memorial Day. It will be a few days early and we decided to do this on that day because everyone will all ready be here for the wedding. When will that ever happen again? Anyway, it will be a low key bbq at our house around 2. "Formal" invites will be going out soon, but keep the date open to help us share little Missy's first birthday. (I can't believe we are all ready talking about her first birthday all ready!!!)

April's snapfish pictures coming out - hopefully - today!
