Forgot to mention

Our time line for the spring.

Chuck returns from SOS on March 30th. He will than have ten days off. From than on, he is home until the move. His sister is getting married on May 23 and since his whole family will be here for that, we are having Addie's birthday party at our house on May 25. We haven't scheduled the move yet, but we have to be in Florida on June 15th. So right now we are planning on leaving VA on June 8 or 9 so we can stop and see some friends of ours on the way down there.

It really is official! The Schuck's are FINALLY leaving Virginia...

So Many Things Happening With the Schuck's

There are so many things going on with us right now. Let's start with Miss Addison...

First off, not only is she jabbering non-stop - "mama" and "baba" - she has also decided that she has no interest what so ever in crawling. The child wants to walk! We spend a lot of our days "walking" around the house. (Her holding my hands with me hunched over.) However, Grammy got smart and bought her a walker and now she cruises all over the place! (Until she hits a wall and can't turn around...) She is also now able to sit herself up from the laying down position AND she can now pull herself up on furniture. Babysitter found her standing in her crib one day last week so we had to lower the crib a little earlier than we planned. She is quite entertaining and has changed so very much since Chuck left for Japan. It is hard to believe she will be nine months old this weekend!!! (Pictures of her coming soon of all her new advancements.)

Chuck made it home safe and sound last Wednesday. It was very obvious he was ready to be home. He wasn't a huge fan of Japan and I think he really is becoming a home body now that he has an adorable little one. We had a nice homecoming with him. He brought Addie an adorable kimono and I will be posting those pictures soon.

Probably the biggest news on our end is that our wonderful, very much loved babysitter has gotten a job and has had to leave us. After much panic, Charlie and I have decided that it is in the best interest of our family for me to stay home with our little one. It would probably be different if we didn't have a move in the future so instead of leaving my job in May, this Friday will be my last day. I have mixed feelings about this. I have loved this job - I love the people I work with and I feel like I am actually doing something good for people. But, I will admit, that the idea of being home with Addison is much more appealing especially since she is getting to be soooo much fun! Don't know if I will go back to work once we get to Florida. We will just have to wait and see if I am really the "stay at home mom type." Always thought I would be, but that was before I had a baby and realized that sometimes you just need to get away for your own sanity!

That being said, my mom had to fly out here to help me out this last week of my job so I could give Jane, my boss, two weeks notice. She got in yesterday and will be here through Sunday. Luckily, she will be taking me home with her next week for a nice long visit. I am excitted about that and I think our dogs will be excitted that "Aunt Chris" - the babysitter - will be coming to the house to stay with them. She gives them lots of naughty treats that mom and dad don't so that should make them a little happy.

So that is all for now. Like I said before, I will be posting pictures of little Miss Thang soon and will be posting much more frequently when I don't have to go to work everyday...

First Word

Addison said her first word yesterday. She had been jabbering up a storm all day and when we got home from the grocery store, I put her in her exercauser. While I was putting the groceries away she was saying "mamamamama." And than she just said "mama." I was in the kitchen putting stuff away and stopped in my tracks and looked at her. I put my hands on my chest and said to her "mama." She looked at me and said "mama" again. It was so cute! But than she didn't say it again the rest of the day so I thought I might have been imagining it. I told my babysitter about it this morning and she texted me a little while ago and said she did it again. I - amazingly - didn't cry, but I thought her daddy sounded a little misty when I told him about it on the phone this morning. I have a feeling once she starts talking, it is all over and our house will never be quiet again. It is wonderful!

Out of Touch

Sorry I have been out of touch for so long. We have no internet at the house - AGAIN! I have to wait for Cox to come out and take a look at it - which who knows when that will be! They aren't very good! So I have to come to Kathie's to check email etc. Today is the first day in several days I have been able to get over here. Please be patient - updates are coming!
