Meeting Santa

We took Addison to meet Santa last night! She looked adorable in her Mrs. Claus outfit. And she did so well. We were expecting tears and screams - but had none of that. She was more interested in grabbing the holiday decorations and Santa's beard.

Jet Photos

We had family pictures taken in front of/in Charlie's jet on Saturday. I am so pleased how well they turned out. I have sent them out on snapfish, so feel free to take a look. Hope you enjoy them!

You know Dasher and Dancer and Prancer and Vixon. Comet and Cupid and Donner and Blitzen. But here is Santa's newest reindeer!

Christmas Shopping

Chuck and I went Christmas shopping yesterday for Addison. It was soooo much fun. We went to Toys-R-Us and it was extremly hard to not go crazy! And it was hard to tear ourselves away from all the fun toys. Essentially we bought her things that we wanted to play with. Gotta take advantage of that while we can because we won't be able to do that forever. It won't be long until she is VERY specific about what she wants.

Oh, and check your email today. Schuck family update email coming today!

Happy Monday!

Sitting up...

Well, Miss Addison is now officially sitting up by herself. She has been able to do it as long as we are within inches of her for support, but last weekend, she decided she didn't need help any more. She can sit for a long time playing with toys and looking around. We now like high chairs when we go out to eat, like to sit in the cart at the grocery store and sits fully up-right in her stroller when we are out.

The first few days she was doing it by herself, she would fall over after a few minutes. We noticed that when she would fall, she would lay there and look around. If she saw we were looking at her, she would start to fuss and cry. But if we weren't looking at her, she would just lay there and eventually roll over.

I have a few cute pictures of her sitting up, but haven't uploaded them yet. I will get to that - HOPEFULLY - this weekend.

Addi's 6 month check up

Yesterday, Addison had her six month well baby check up. (CAN YOU BELIEVE SIX MONTHS ALL READY?) She weighs 15 lbs 12 oz. and is 25 1/2 inches long. She is in the 50th percentile - so she is average size. The doctor thought she looked good and was right on track developmentally. It was a good check up for the little princess!

Christmas Tree Farm, and last blog for the night

Charlie and I thought it would be fun to start our own little holiday family tradition by heading out to a Christmas tree farm to get our tree. We dressed her up in a VERY cute holiday outfit and headed up north of Williamsburg last Saturday. The weather was good and pretty warm - but I wish it would have been a little colder so it would have felt a little more like Christmas. We walked all over the farm and found a great tree. Because of insurance concerns, the farm wouldn't let us cut it down ourselves but we got to watch the man do it. (?) We got it home, put it up, and decorated it the next morning. That sucker is sooooo much bigger than we thought. Don't get me wrong, it still a good tree and it looks great in our front window - but it does take up a lot more room in the front room than we had planned. It is a great first tree for Addi, even though she will never remember it...

Just a side note - this is my last blog tonight. I made some pretty good progress on getting caught up, but now I am pooped. Have to work tomorrow so it is best that I head off to bed.

Our Thanksgiving

We had a very quiet Thanksgiving this year. This year was the first year since we have lived in VA that we haven't had Thanksgiving at our house. Last year we had 12 people and it took all weekend to recover so we decided to hand the reigns over to Valerie and let her have it at her house. She did a really good job. Way to go, Val!

Getting caught up

So my goal over the next few days is to get my blogging caught up, my pictures from November sent out to our family and friends, and new pictures posted to myspace. (Sorry facebook, Iwill get to you later.)

I will be sending out multiple "albums" in snapfish because when I went to send out one for November, there were over 200 pictures. PROOF THAT WE HAD AN ACTIVE MONTH! Rather than doing it that way, I am breaking it down into events and sending an album out for each. I thought it would be better to do it this way so people could take their time and look at one album at a time, rather than sitting down for hours to get through just one that has so many pictures.

I am also HOPING to get out a Schuck Family update email, but don't hold your breath. We have yet another busy weekend ahead of us.

Addison Meets Great Grandma Shirley

The first weekend in November, Charlie's grandma drove to VA from Illinois to meet Addison. She got to Valerie's in Richmond on Friday night and the following day, Chuck took Addison to meet up with them at Val's. I was working at the Kiln Creek Craft Show, so I did not join them that day. It was really nice for them though to have a day, just them. That Sunday, Val and Chris brought Shirley to our house for dinner. Chef Schuck made is famous ribs... YUM YUM YUM We had a very nice afternoon with her and that evening we had "Christmas" with her. It was fun for us all to watch Addison open gifts for the first time and true to baby form, she was more interested in the paper. We were all so glad that Shirley was able to get out here and meet her.

Addison's first Halloween

Obviously, Halloween was quite a while ago, but we have had such a hectic few weeks and our internet has not been working right. Halloween was a busy day for Addi - even though we didn't do nearly as much as we had planned. We only ended up going into my office so she could "trick or treat." She looked adorable in her little penguin outfit, but it was really hot that day so she didn't stay in it long. We ran errands most of the day and she didn't nap so by the time it was time to actually go "show her off" she was really crabby and the traffic was terrible. Needless to say, we ordered Chinese food and went home. Enjoy her pics!

Busy, busy, busy

As you may have noticed, it has been a few weeks since I have had a chance to post anything. Things have been so busy around here it has been hard to catch our breath. Shortly after my last post, my mom was here for a week, we had fun with Halloween, we got some firm move dates, met with our real estate agent about listing our house, hosted a baby shower - the list goes on and on and on. I will be posting some new pictures of all of those things very shortly. Sorry for the lack of attention to this... Stay tuned!

Kiln Creek Craft Show

For all of you who live here, my mom is participating in a craft show in Kiln Creek on Saturday, November 1st. She is a quilter and is extremly talented. Mainly, she has holiday items - including AWESOME, huge stockings. She also specializes in picture memory quilts - all made to order. And her prices are great. Come swing by and see us. The show is from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. If you can't make it, she will be here from October 29 through November 4. Give me a call and swing by.

Charlie is HOME!!!

Charlie got home yesterday afternoon. It is so nice to have him home and Addison was happy to see him - all smiles and coos. He was really happy to see her too and was really surprised to see how much she had grown in just two weeks. Not to mention how excitted he was to see her for the first time in her exer-causeur, grab her toes, hold her bottle, suck her thumb. These are all new things since he has been gone. This picture was taken in the squadron shortly after we met up with him.

Hooray...

Charlie comes home today. He has been in Florida for two weeks. I don't know who is happier - me or him. Me because it really is exhausting carrying the load here at home - or him because he has missed his little girl. (Funny how his views on all his travels have changed now with Addison. He used to love going on these trips, but not so much any more.)

It's only Tuesday

It is only Tuesday and I all ready feel like I have worked an entire week. I am exhausted all ready and still have three days of the week left. (Hope we aren't getting sick around here.) Between work and Addison's teething, I am getting nothing done around the house. Luckily, Chris, our sitter is here all day tomorrow so I will be able to get some housework done. Our current project is the guest bedroom and since my mom is coming for a visit next week, I need to really make some progress on it. But right now, I have poured myself a BIG glass of wine and am going to sit and watch last week's Greys since I missed it. HURRY UP WEEKEND! I am sooooo ready for you!

Our Saturday...

We didn't do much today. I had grand plans of getting the house clean, but our little one decided that the only way she would nap was if she was on my chest. So she took two long naps while on my chest... What a hardship for me! We did get the grocery shopping done - THRILLING! And she did spend a lot of time playing in her new exersaucer - which she loves. She went down about an hour ago and I am sitting watching the Beavers play the Huskies... the Beavs are winning. Even though we didn't do much today, the day still went by so fast. The weekends go so fast especially now that we are getting our house ready to sell. It seems like - with the exception of today - we are working on our house ALL weekend and not taking much time to relax, and than comes Monday again. (HEY! THE BEAVS JUST SCORED AGAIN!!! AWOOOHOOOOOO! 24-6) And even though we didn't do much today, I am so sleepy and ready to go to bed. Long gone are the late Saturday nights. Night, night friends and family.

The start of our family blog

To all of our friends and family,

Since we live so far away from so many of you, we thought a great way for you to all keep tabs on what is happening with us - mainly Addison, we thought it would a great idea to start a family blog page. It is my hope to keep it updated with Addison stories, things that are going on with us, etc. at least every few days. (That is the goal anyway!)

Stay tuned...

Love, Chuck, Jenne and Addison
